My first blog post!

Ummm! What shall I write about?  Why have I decided to write a blog?  Will anyone be interested in what I write? What shall I call my blog?  Does it need a name?
I have tried researching “what makes a good blog”.  All I am finding are posts from the USA telling me how much money I can make when writing a blog but not a lot on how to write a blog!  So, here goes, my first instalment, scene setting.
I want to record happenings on a day to day, well actually, to be more précis week to week basis at Staward Station, home to “The Humble Herd” which at the moment consists of six black Labradors, Granddad Sol, Rum, Mummy T, Tom, and twin puppies Eddie and Twinkle; two cats, Big cat and Friday; nine hens - no names; and two humans me Deb and hubby Steve!
Staward Station is also the home of our business “Country Concierge”, which operates: The Waiting Room, Book a Cook, Pop up Picnics, Holiday Home Services and On-call Handyman.   Most of the aforementioned have Face Book pages and Twitter accounts as we do ourselves and to be honest trying to update them all on a regular basis is very time consuming.  I am not getting much time for anything else, work or play!  Hence my thought let’s write a blog write everything in one place and post that!  Genius...or ...?
To appreciate some of my content you need to know we live in the fabulous most northerly county of England, Northumberland in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Our nearest village shop is four miles, the pub is one mile.  There is no public transport...we have comfy walking boots and wellies!   We have two neighbouring properties, near enough to shout in an emergency, only six people including ourselves and our holiday cottage, “The Waiting Room”.   We love it!!
We are very lucky, each day is like an episode of “wild watch”...sometimes we see masses of wildlife and other days nothing!  Every day we see sheep, rabbits, pheasants, birds of prey and wild song birds.  One of our Waiting Room guests, Rob, recorded 23 different song birds whilst sitting in the garden having his breakfast.
